Greece Pulls Out of Israeli Film Festival

The AFP just reported that Greece has pulled out of an Israeli film festival. It cites indignation in Greece over the bombing of Lebanon. However, it is unclear from the article whether the government of Greece intends its action to be in protest of the violence generally, or of Israel specifically. If the latter is true, it can be seen as a positive development in the international movement to isolate and pressure Israel.

More and more people, organizations, and governments must come to see boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) as a legitimate and necessary political tool to pressure the Israeli government.
